In 1789, the French king Louis XVI decided to order his troops to Versailles. The French revolutionaries in Paris were shocked. They suspected that the king wanted to attack them, so they decided to arm themselves.They got weapons but there wasn't enough gunpowder to fight against the king's troops. But inside the Bastille, the French national prison, about 250 barrels of gunpowder were stored, so the revolutionaries decided to seize them. The Storming of the Bastille took place at July 14, 1789.
