Description:

Tawang monastery is the largest monastery in India and the second largest in Asia. The monastery stands three stories tall and is enclosed by a 925 feet long compound wall. There are 65 residential buildings within the complex, with a 26-feet-high golden statue of Lord Buddha dominating the sanctum. It also has a library, a museum and a school for basic education.
